Fatty Fish
There are mainly two types of fish, white fish and bluefish. Although both types are excellent sources for proteins, bluefish, also called oily or fatty fish, are fabulous foods to fight inflammation. Tuna, mackerel, salmon, sardines, herring, swordfish and anchovies are all in this category, and they’re packed with Omega-3 fatty acids.
Our body uses these fatty acids to create compounds called protectins, which, you guessed it, protect our bodies from inflammation, heart disease and kidney disease.
