If you notice that there are lipstick shades that you see at beauty areas of the drugstore, they are meant to be for demo purposes and to be tested on your arm. You never test those on your lips. If you like the shade of how it appears on your arm, then you buy your own lipstick as that is never meant to be shared.
There is a lot of bacteria and viruses on your lips and that is another way to share bacterial or viral infections, and fungal infections as well. It is fine to test the color on your arm or your wrist, but be sure to disinfect it right after and don’t test it on an area that has a wound.
