You would be horrified to learn how many germs are on your bar soap but as long as it is your own, then keep it that way. Do not allow anyone else to use your own as they are exposed to the germs and bacteria on your soap. If you have guests coming over, keep liquid soap around instead for them to use.
As it was said, it is fine to lend some things to others like a pen or change, but never give anyone those 10 personal items that were listed.
