Pain Medications
Opioids such as morphine which are effective pain relievers will have an effect on the brain’s function. This means if these pain relievers are being taken on a regular basis, then it can slow cognitive ability, hamper concentration, and memory. That is because these medications block pain signals in the brain. If these medications are stopped, then the effects are reversible. Unfortunately, it is easy to become hooked on pain relievers which can cause long-term problems with the brain.
