Catnip
Greek catnip is a great mosquito repellant as it is and you will want to have some of these flowers around your home. Especially if the leaves are bruised as they have the oil exposed which is what really does a great job with repelling them.
Another study published in 2009 in Medical and Veterinary Entomology reports that catnip oil can be considered a relatively safe repellent.
Put a small number of fresh catnip leaves in small porous bags and leave them in different parts of your house.
Change the leaves every 2 to 3 days.
Alternatively, simmer 1 tablespoon of catnip leaves in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes. Strain and allow the liquid to cool. Spray the solution in different parts of your home.
