The Cold Virus
You may think when you have allergies that you are coming down with a cold, or vice versa. That is because the cold virus presents the same symptoms as seasonal or many other allergies do. Those symptoms are a runny nose, sneezing, a sore throat, and watery eyes.
Mild colds do not affect your energy levels or appetite and that can really be hard to distinguish between whether you have that or allergies. If you take an antihistamine, then you can see if the symptoms lessen or disappear. If that is the case, then it is allergies. If not, then it is a cold.
