Vitamin C
One of the main contributors to the increase in oxalates is vitamin C. Although the vitamin is exceptionally healthy, and it’s vital for our well-being, it can have a negative effect, especially if you already eat too many calcium-rich foods.
Oranges, limes, grapefruits and lemons, but also tomatoes and bell peppers have high amounts of vitamin C, but not enough to pose a threat. Vitamin C supplements, on the other hand, should be avoided unless recommended by a physician.
